Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Town Foundation Ladies Lunch as a guest of one of my clients, Paxman – the pioneers in scalp cooling.
The event, held at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield, was a day quite literally filled with sparkle and glamour.
As well as being one of the best Friday afternoons I have had in a long time, it also raised money for the Huddersfield Town Foundation, a charity that aims to improve the lives of young people across Huddersfield and West Yorkshire.
On our ‘scalp cooling’ table were a number of inspiring women and it was an honour to be amongst them.
From oncology nurses at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary Hospital, to the ladies from the Laura Crane Teenage Cancer Trust, as well as the Healthcare at Home team, we all had all thing in common – scalp cooling.
As I spoke to the ladies around the table, it was fascinating to hear their stories and find out how each organisation supports cancer patients and their families at what is an extremely difficult time of their lives.
So, thank you, Paxman for inviting me along as your guest. It was such a wonderful day with amazing ladies and I hope the event raised lots of money for the young people in the area.
